Some of you (ok, most of you) may be tired of hearing about my current obsession with JPop and my favorite Japanese singing group Morning Musume. However, I cannot resist posting one of their songs as today’s pick.

I did think about waiting and posting this song a couple of days from now for “a song by my favorite band,” but I am one of those people who say a singing group is not a band, so I’m posting this today. Bands have people playing musical instruments; groups focus on singers usually with recorded background music, right? Excuse me, I digress.

Love Machine” was Morning Musume’s seventh single and their first one to sell over one million copies. It was released on September 9, 1999. It was a number one hit and the group’s highest selling single.

I enjoy dancing to this song so much, I often refer to it as “Dance Machine.” The beat and the energy just make me want to move. Plus, in classic Morning Musume style, there are moves that are easy to copy, and they repeat often throught the video. You can just go crazy during the bridge. It’s easy for me to pretend I’m really dancing. Oh, I can just imagine the mental pictures I am creating for you all!

If you don’t like JPop, today’s bonus song is “Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance) by The Contours.” It’s not only a song I can dance to, it’s all about dancing!
